Praia, June 26 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) today revealed that the sanitary regions of Fogo / Brava, North Santiago and Praia are the areas with the highest risks in terms of transmission of diseases transmitted by the vectors in the country.
Tomás Valdéz gave this information during the opening ceremony of the “Entomology Techniques applied to vector monitoring and control” course, held in Praia City, from now until July 1, involving technicians and specialists from Santiago and Fogo.
He considers that the national technicians need this training in order to continue to carry out their actions, saying that the laboratory will work, especially in prevention.
The institute, said Tomás Valdéz, should also host a national public health laboratory, and therefore presents the medical etymology laboratory as a step in the implementation of what is embodied in the INSP study, as a reference in these laboratory areas, developing the national laboratory of public health.
