São Filipe, May 11 (Inforpress) – The Vitó Project Association, a non-governmental organization since 2009 has been acting in the protection of biodiversity, promotes on Saturday, the 14th, a major campaign to clean beaches in São Filipe.
The campaign will involve the main partners of the Vitó Project and its volunteers and will cover the main beaches of São Filipe which are searched by turtles for sow, namely Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, Fonte Vila and Marmulano, around the port of Vale dos Cavaleiros.
According to a note from the Vitó Project Association, the clean-up campaign is part of the preparation for the implementation of the project for the promotion and conservation of sea turtles and, in addition to the beaches of São Filipe, similar campaigns will be carried out on the beaches in the municipalities of Mosteiros and Santa Catarina do Fogo, searched by turtles for spawning.
The association expects to have more than half a hundred participants, who will be divided into groups that will act simultaneously on the beaches of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, Fonte Vila and Vale dos Cavaleiros, with the meeting scheduled for 6:30AM at Praça das Bandeiras.
