São Filipe, Mar 23 (Inforpress) – The book of chronicles by Gilda Barbosa, entitled “Ao Sabor dos Ventos” (At the flavor of the Winds, in English), will be launched in the city of São Filipe on March 29 and in Praia on April 14.
“Ao Sabor dos Ventos” brings together 80 chronicles, out of about 180, that Gilda Barbosa published in the Terra Nova Magazine for more than 15 years, from 1996 to 2012, focusing mainly on the history of the island of Fogo, told with “simplicity” and accessible to everyone.
In an interview with Inforpress, Gilda Barbosa, her full name Gilda Marta de Vasconcelos Vicente Barbosa, born in the city of São Filipe, 83 years ago, graduated in Mathematical Sciences and trained in Pedagogical Sciences, said that the book was to be integrated into the centenary of the elevation of São Filipe to the category of city, but which is only now given the stamp with the seal of Pedro Cardoso bookstore.
According to her, since February 20, 2022, she has delivered all the texts, because they set a deadline. Whatever, it was only possible to have the book ready now, because they had the photographs to insert, which the newspaper wouldn’t accept as in the book.
