Praia, Apr 3 (Inforpress) – The President of the Association for the Defense of the Environment and Development (ADAD) today lamented the death of the military and called the attention of the authorities to the need for a prevention plan to combat forest fires.
“On behalf of ADAD, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and friends for the loss of these soldiers who were fighting the fire in Serra Malagueta. We would also like to encourage all the women and men who are currently fighting the fire and offer all our solidarity”, declared Januário Nascimento to Inforpress.
The person in charge also took the opportunity to draw the attention of peasants to avoid burning, advising them to clean up the forests before June, considered in the country a time when sowing begins, in order to help the Government in prevention.
“It is necessary, once again, to take precautions, but also to create synergy between different institutions, in order to obtain environmental education work involving all the partners working on the issue of protected areas”, he said.
