Praia, Aug 29 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Federation of Disabled People’s Associations (FECAD) today asked the Government for more financial resources to create accessibility and mobility conditions to ensure people with disabilities leave vulnerability in Cabo Verde.
The request was made to the Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, by the president of FECAD, António Pedro Melo, during a hearing for the collection of contributions, in the scope of the elaboration of the State Budget for 2018.
At the end of the meeting, the representative of the associations said that they presented their experiences and the work they have done for the inclusion of this social layer, and asked the Government for a “strong action” in disability field.
António Pedro Melo recalled that there is in Cabo Verde legislation on accessibility and mobility that, however, is not implemented, which ends, in his view, to place several obstacles to people with disability.
