Praia, Nov 8 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Football Federation (FCF) is “in great expectation” with Cabo Verde’s first ever women’s game to be played on June 16 in the City of Praia in a friendly with Guinea Bissau.
In an interview with Inforpress, the FCF president said he hoped that all Cabo Verdeans would support and participate in the internationalization of women’s football, claiming that it was “the beginning of a new phase of the Cabo Verdean women’s football with the creation of the national team and with the accomplishment of its first game”.
Mário Semedo added that, following the women’s opening game, the team will face major challenges such as its participation in international competitions, especially for the African Cup of Nations.
The women’s team from Cabo Verde holds its first ever game on January 16, in the City of Praia against Guiné Bissau, under the care of a technical team led by coach Silvéria “Nita” Nédio who has already called the athletes, all residents in the country.
