Praia, Oct 9 (Inforpress) – The Praia city hosts the first inclusive fashion show on October 14, under the them “A new look”, an initiative of the Modeli Association, informed today to Inforpress the president of the association, Joana Almada.
After participating in an Assembly of Adapted Sport in Angola, Joana Almada said she noticed that African women, victims of war, perform a parade of African costumes to valorize themselves, so she decided to bring this idea to Cabo Verde, but with different objectives.
This parade, she said, aims to draw the attention of stylists to inclusion through fashion, that is, to equality.
“And because the world is one who dreams and dares, fashion has no measure and no person. It is difficult for many people to find clothes, so we always have to make some adaptations. That’s why we want national designers to wear costumes that fit people who face difficult to find clothes,” he said.
The parade, according to indicated, will be interspersed by obese people, that is, plus size, homosexuals, wheelchairs, disabled children, among others, a group that the population seen, according to Joana Almada, differently and is victim of some kind of prejudice.
