Praia, Oct 26 (Inforpress) – The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will make available to the Government 300 thousand dollars to implement the “Reinforcing adaptability and resilience of the forestry sector in Cabo Verde” project.
To this end, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAA) and FAO signed a two-year technical project in the City of Praia that will be implemented in the islands of Santiago, Fogo and Boa Vista.
Representing the FAO, the resident coordinator of the United Nations System, Ana Graça, explained that this project aims to work with the Government to promote agriculture, resilience, food security and agricultural resilience.
This project, he added, is part of the Government’s preventive strategy to ensure the sustainability of ecosystem services and better address the threat of desertification caused by climate change.
