Sal Rei, April 27 (Inforpress) – Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva said today that the Government expects “a great commitment” from the International Partners Conference, taking place in Boa Vista, regarding the development process of Cape Verde in the coming years.
“We have the PEDS which has a time horizon until 2026, then we have the 20-30 Agenda and we expect the commitment in terms of engagement not only financial, but engagement in terms of support, technical assistance, active collaboration in areas where Cape Verde still has a need, but also in terms of attracting private investment,” said the head of government, in statements to journalists after the opening ceremony.
“So, in terms of financing, we have these two great strengths: development partnerships and financing on favorable terms, concessional ones, as there are, will certainly be reinforced, and public-private partnerships to attract foreign direct investment, national investment,” he added.
Ulisses Correia e Silva stressed that Cape Verde already has previous experience with the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development (PEDS I – 2017-2021), which, as indicated, was implemented in very difficult conditions, so he believes in the success of implementing this new strategic document that has a time horizon of 2026.
