“Excellent” Higher Education is a major element in the construction of Cabo Verde as a platform country – Olavo Correia

Praia, Jul 29 (Inforpress) – The Deputy Prime Minister said that “excellent” higher education is a major element in the construction of Cabo Verde as a platform country, defending the need to have an educational system capable of training competitive and innovative young people.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, made these considerations, Tuesday, during the opening of the thematic workshop on human capital development strategy in the horizon 2030, held today in the city of Praia.

“We have two important areas: the first area has to do with the education system, we have to create the conditions for when young people leave the education system, whether in basic education, higher education, or professional, they may have the  fundamental skills for making Cabo Verde a developed country ”, he stated.

For the government official, it will not be possible to have Cabo Verde as a service provider if the country does not have human capital adjusted to its ambitions, arguing that young people have to master the three languages, as an essential tool to allow Cabo Verde to be a platform country.
