Praia, Jun 7 (Inforpress) – The Independent Health Regulatory Authority (ERIS) today defended, in Praia, the “urgent” need to promote and facilitate food safety actions, but with the involvement of all economic operators.
The idea was expressed by the executive administrator for the ERIS food sector, Patricia Miranda Alfama, this morning, moments before presiding over the webinar opening ceremony on “Manual of Good Hygiene Practices for Food Establishments”, which takes place in the context of the World Food Safety Day (WFSD) celebrations, observed today.
The administrator recalled that food security of supply is closely related to health security, and unsafe food causes health problems for the population and economic problems in global trade.
Aware that hygiene is essential for ensuring safe food on the market, ERIS has developed this manual for economic operators in the food sector and includes simplified information, using illustrations and other graphic representations, on the actions can be implemented to comply with the legal health safety requirements of food in force in the country.
