Assomada, Jul 6 (Inforpress) - The Music Experience event, promoted by the ‘265 Talks’ collective as part of the 265 Creative Festival, provided an exchange of experiences and an appreciation of music in its various forms over the last three days (04 to 06).

Speaking to the press, Sílvio Brito, a member of the organisation and a participant in the event, explained that the 265 Creative Festival has been moving the city of Assomada for two years now and aims to stimulate artistic creation and expand opportunities for local talent.

This weekend the stage was dedicated to the Music Experience, with debates, topic panels, music showcases and networking moments, which brought together musicians, producers, artists and the public interested in the national and international music scene.

The event, according to the same source, aimed to create a space for dialogue and exchange of experiences, to strengthen music production and encourage the emergence of new musicians in Santa Catarina.

Praia, Jul 7 (Inforpress) - Cape Verdean striker Paulo Cardoso, known as Kanal, scored his first goal for Sporting de Portugal's B team in a training match against the first team on Sunday.

According to the sports portal Zerozero, the 19-year-old, signed this season from Estrela da Amadora, was one of the highlights for the B team, scoring one of the two goals in the game that ended in a 5-2 victory for the first team.

The match served as the first pre-season test for the two Leonine squads, with the aim of providing a competitive rhythm and assessing technical options for the new season.

Last season, Kanal scored 14 goals in 35 games for Estrela da Amadora's under-19, under-23 and B teams.

Mindelo, Jul 3 (Inforpress) - The Civic Association for the Enhancement of Matiota (ACVM) is organising a clean-up of the seaside resort's tank on Saturday as part of a day of citizenship to mark the 50th anniversary of Cabo Verde's independence.

This initiative was taken up by the president of the ACVM, António Pedro Silva, who explained to Inforpress that they are resuming a campaign that began in 2021 to valorise the space, located in the Chã de Alecrim area, next to the Cabnave shipyards, with years of history in the city of Mindelo.

According to the same source, all this time they have been waiting for a project to maintain and repair the entire surrounding area, including the construction of changing rooms, with the approval of the former Minister for the Sea, Abraão Vicente, but no further progress has been made. 

“the action on Saturday will be like a liberation of people's spirits, because at the moment there is a political oppression that is crushing the citizenry, “ said António Pedro Silva, with the idea that the choice of 5 July was “'not for nothing”'.

Lisbon, Jul 3 (Inforpress) - The Centre for Judicial Studies (CEJ) in Portugal is going to help Cabo Verde by sharing experience and carrying out a technical mission with a view to setting up the Centre for Legal and Judicial Training (CFJJ) in the archipelago.

The Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, was received on Wednesday by the director of the CEJ in Portugal, Judge Counsellor Fernando Vaz Ventura, who encouraged the minister to go ahead with the project, guaranteeing the collaboration of the institution she heads in its realisation.

On the occasion, the Cape Verdean leader presented the state of play of the process of creating the CFJJ, detailing the objectives, the model, the structure, as well as the reforms needed and underway to improve the archipelago's judicial system in the face of the increase in backlogs, i.e. the judicial configuration in relation to the challenges of the sector.

Joana Rosa emphasised the need to maintain the partnership with the CEJ, particularly in the training of trainers and ongoing training of magistrates, a collaboration that she said has been beneficial for Cabo Verde.
