Mindelo, Jul 7 (Inforpress) - Today, the PAICV in São Vicente denounced the council's refusal to connect the Faculty of Education and Sports (FAED) of the University of Cabo Verde to the sewage system and fined the institution 1,000 escudos.
The accusation was made today by Nilton Medina Silva, a municipal elected member of the African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV), after a visit to the FAED of the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV).
According to the elected representative, this situation of ‘lack of public health’ has harmed more than 600 people, including students, teachers and staff, and endangers the very structure of the building, because the basement, which is underneath the library, is flooded with sewage.
In addition, he added, it affects the residences close to the institution and the Bishopric of Mindelo itself, where Bishop Ildo Fortes lives, right next door to the FAED.
