UNDP proposes training for MPs on State Budget management and gender equality

Praia, August 17 (Inforpress) – The UNDP resident representative announced today its support for the National Assembly in conducting technical training on the 2027 State Budget, focusing on integrating a gender perspective and promoting equality.

The information was disclosed by David Matern to journalists following an official meeting with the President of the National Assembly, Janira Hopffer Almada, held today at the National Assembly Palace.

According to that United Nations official, the possibility of the UNDP organizing training for all members of Parliament was discussed during the hearing. This training would focus on the management and development of the new 2027 budget and, in particular, on the so-called "gender markup," that is, the integration of the gender dimension into the budgetary process.

The initiative aims to contribute to strengthening a budgetary base geared towards promoting gender equality and equity in Cabo Verde.
