
Praia, 28 August (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, congratulated Isaías Barreto on Thursday on his appointment as the new UNESCO representative in Nigeria, having previously held the same post in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The appointment was highlighted by the President of the Republic in a post on his official page, in which he congratulated the Cape Verdean official on his new role.
Neves highlighted the career and expertise of the Cape Verdean officer, who expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to the new mission.
“A former Commissioner of Telecommunications and Information Technology at ECOWAS, this Cape Verdean official has distinguished himself on the international stage through his own merit and has held positions of great responsibility, always having been appointed following open competitions, which demonstrates the level of preparation and competence of Cape Verdean officials, both on the islands and in the diaspora,” wrote the Head of State.
