The President of ANMCV wants a national solid waste management strategy adapted to each municipality

São Filipe, 24 August (Inforpress) – The president of the National Association of Municipalities of Cabo Verde (ANMCV), Fábio Vieira, today called for the development of a national strategy for solid waste management, tailored to the specific characteristics and circumstances of each municipality

In an interview with Radio Cabo Verde, the official explained that the terms of reference for defining the document have already been identified, and that the association was awaiting the inauguration of the executive branch to present the document and gather any potential contributions.

According to Fábio Vieira, the objective is to move beyond the traditional view of solid waste and begin to see it also as an opportunity for municipalities to generate revenue.

“The important thing is to start looking at waste as an opportunity,” argued the president of ANMCV, pointing to recycling and reuse as some of the ways that can contribute to more sustainable management and, simultaneously, to the mobilization of financial resources.
