Studies on promoting the blue economy in Cabo Verde presented at a workshop in São Vicente

Mindelo, May 20 (Inforpress) - The Minister of the Sea, Jorge Santos, will preside on Thursday, 22, at the Mindelo Oceanographic Center, over a workshop to present and validate two studies on the promotion of the blue economy in Cabo Verde.

According to a note from the Instituto do Mar (Institute of the Sea) the first study will present the main results of the “International Benchmarks [good practices/references] in terms of the blue economy relevant to Cabo Verde and the main associated innovation and development practices”.

According to the Instituto do Mar, the objective of the study was to “carry out an international reference analysis of the relevant benchmarks in Innovation in Blue Economy Development for Cabo Verde, as well as the innovation practices best suited to the current and future challenges, in the short, medium and long term, for the country”.

The results of the study on “Mechanisms for transferring knowledge of research and technological innovation to the business sector” will also be presented, which, according to the same source, aims to propose mechanisms for transferring knowledge to the business sector, as well as strategies for the absorption of this knowledge by companies.
