Mindelo, 26 Mar (Inforpress) – The new president of the Mindelo Tennis Club is focusing on continuity, communication, and development to relaunch the sport in São Vicente, currently weakened by the lack of competitions, equipment, and court conditions.
Elected on March 9 and sworn in on the 20th, Mónica Graça stated that she assumes her role in what is considered a difficult context for the sport in São Vicente, following the resignation of previous club and association boards.
According to the official, it was necessary to mobilize stakeholders in a true “djunta mon” (collective effort) to rebuild tennis on the island and restore its former level.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, no competitions or training activities have been held, a situation worsened by lack of equipment, shortage of referees and ball boys, as well as financial difficulties affecting both the association and the club.
