São Vicente hosts meeting on mental health and substance use with national and U.S. doctors

Mindelo, Apr 22 (Inforpress) – São Vicente will host on Thursday and Friday a scientific and cultural collaboration event with health professionals from Cabo Verde and the United States, who will discuss mental health and substance use.

According to a note sent to Inforpress, the event is organized by the Mental Health Subcommittee of the Cape Verdean/American Medical Association, in partnership with the Cape Verdean Institute for Children and Adolescents (ICCA), the São Vicente Health Delegation and the University of Mindelo (Uni-Mindelo).

According to the same source, the event, under the theme “Mental health and substance use: what intervention strategies”, aims to provide professional updates with specialists in the field, discuss real cases and clinical practices, and strengthen local and institutional networks.

Participants also intend to share experiences in the field and contribute to the joint development of sustainable strategies for mental health in the region.
