São Vicente: Associação Amigos do Mato Inglês prepares festivities for Nossa Senhora de Fátima

Mindelo, May 9 (Inforpress) - The president of the Associação Amigos do Mato Inglês told Inforpress today that they are already preparing the logistics to receive the faithful and visitors for the feasts of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, (Our lady)  which take place on Sunday in that town.

According to Jorge Andrade, this work is being done in collaboration with the church and the City Council of São Vicente so that the space is well organised, with tents in suitable areas, to leave the road clear for the pilgrimage with the image of Our Lady of Fátima to reach the town at 09:30 Am

‘Every year we usually receive more than three thousand people. So the procession with the image of the saint is scheduled to leave the parish church at 07:30 am and arrive in Mato Inglês at 09:30am. But before 06:00am there will already be many vehicles coming here, so we want the stalls to be well organised and the cars parked correctly to leave the entrance free for the procession to pass through,’ explained the same source.

According to the official, from the moment the procession passes there will be drummers to accompany the procession, but the moment will be suspended to make way for the solemn Mass in honour of Our Lady of Fatima, which will be celebrated in the local chapel.
