São Filipe: Refurbishment works on the fishing and bathing area at Salinas begin today with the signing of the works contract

São Filipe, 16 September (Inforpress) – Work on the refurbishment of the Salinas fishing and bathing area on São Jorge, representing an investment of around 130,000 contos, begins today with the signing of the contract.

According to the local authority, the project represents a further step in the process of enhancing and developing the municipality, with the aim of improving conditions in the fishing and bathing areas, boosting its potential as a tourist destination and helping to revitalise the local economy.

The project also aims to create better conditions for the community—specifically for fishermen, residents, business operators, and other users of the area.

By the end of August, the city council had already signed a contract for the refurbishment of the Salinas fishing and bathing area with a consortium comprising the companies Elevolution Engenharia, SA – Cabo Verde Branch, and Elevo Engenharia Cabo Verde, a sole proprietorship, the winner of the public tender.
