Santo Antão: Work on the Tarrafal Stadium has been put on hold pending a funding solution – mayor

Ribeira Grande, 14 July (Inforpress) – Building work on the Tarrafal Stadium in Ribeira Grande has come to a standstill due to a lack of funding for the final phase of the project, the mayor confirmed to Inforpress today.

Armindo da Luz explained that the project has been suspended while awaiting a financial solution that will ensure the continuation of the work.

According to the same source, the city council has already invested 75,000 contos in the infrastructure project, but a further 140,000 contos are needed to complete the work.

The mayor stated that the municipality is awaiting the resumption of negotiations with the Government, following the approval of the new executive's program, in order to find a solution that will secure the missing funding.
