Porto Novo, 31 August (Inforpress) – The Community Association Luz Viva, in Lagoa do Planalto Leste, Santo Antão, has called for the resumption of public sector recruitment in the area to help the most vulnerable families.
The leader of this association, Alberto Silva, explained to Inforpress that there have been no public sector jobs in Lagoa do Planalto Leste for over a year, highlighting the “difficult social situation” prevailing in this community as a result of unemployment.
This official called the City Council of Porto Novo City Council and the Ministry of Agriculture’s offices in Santo Antão to assist vulnerable families by reopening public sector jobs in Lagoa do Planalto Leste.
Alberto Silva also reiterated his concerns about the drought in this area, which is having a negative impact on livestock farming, and argued that livestock farmers need to be supported through a livestock rescue plan.
