Sal Island: Cape Verdean Master Daniel Pina Receives Prestigious “Golden Samurai” Award

Espargos, 19 Nov (Inforpress) – Cape Verdean martial arts master Daniel Pina has been awarded the international “Golden Samurai” prize, granted by the Barcelona Hall of Honours, one of Europe’s most renowned martial arts galas.

The distinction highlights his “excellence” in karate and self-defence, areas in which he has played “a key role” both in Cabo Verde and within the diaspora.

The ceremony, which annually brings together “leading names” in martial arts, recognized Daniel Pina as “Master of the Year in Karate and Police Self-Defence,” honoring his “dedication, exemplary contribution and ongoing impact in athlete training,” particularly on Sal Island, where he has developed notable projects.

The statuette — a Golden Samurai — symbolizes values such as courage, discipline, honour and leadership, principles that, according to the organizers, have guided the master’s entire career.
