Cidade Velha, 25 Nov (Inforpress) – The Ribeira Grande de Santiago Municipality and the Spanish organisation Maena Esencia presented today the project for the first Macaronesia Forum on Child Vulnerability, an initiative aimed at creating the first White Paper on Childhood involving four archipelagos.
Speaking to Inforpress, Paola Lozano, president of Maena Esencia, explained that the main goal of the forum, held in Cidade Velha, is to bring together the governments of the Canary Islands, Azores, Madeira and Cabo Verde to develop joint strategies for child protection and development.
The official, who is on a mission to Cabo Verde from the 22nd to the 28th of this month, noted that the White Paper will compile techniques, methodologies and integrated public-policy proposals addressing areas such as housing, health, food, education and social protection.
“The book consists of developing the technical framework and alliance among the four governments to protect children in every aspect. Everything related to their protection is part of creating the White Paper,” she stressed, highlighting the institutional role of the municipality.
