Praia, 25 Jun (Inforpress) - The Prime Minister said today that the economy has overcome the global economic crises, the covid-19 pandemic and continues its solid path of recovery with positive impacts and improvements in the quality of life of Cape Verdeans.

Ulisses Correia e Silva made these statements during the opening of the parliamentary debate on the present and future of the Cape Verdean economy, sustainable growth strategies and innovation, proposed by the Movement for Democracy (MpD - ruling party).

"After the impacts of the most serious global economic crisis since World War II, caused by the covid-19 pandemic, the Cape Verdean economy has recovered and continues on a solid path to recovery. We will reach 7.3 per cent growth in 2024, with inflation at a low level of 1 per cent, the debt burden falling, the unemployment rate and the poverty rate falling," he said.
