Praia: This Saturday, Achada Grande Trás will host the fifth edition of the Catxupa Festival

Praia, July 6 (Inforpress) - The Achada Grande Trás neighborhood in City of Praia will host the 5th edition of the Catxupa Festival on Saturday the 11th, an initiative that combines gastronomy, solidarity, health and cultural entertainment.

In statements to Inforpress, the event organizer, Leida Alfama, explained that the festival was born from a passion for catxupa, the national dish of Cabo Verde, and the desire to promote this specialty of Cape Verdean gastronomy, while also developing a social action.

According to this official, the festival aims to raise funds for the purchase of school supplies for underprivileged children in the community.

She mentioned that one of the new features of this edition is the provision of free consultations and screenings, in partnership with health professionals from Achada Grande Trás and volunteers, including dental consultations, triage, and screening for certain pathologies.
