PR congratulates Senegal on 65th anniversary of independence and reaffirms commitment to bilateral ties

Praia, Apr 8 (Inforpress) - The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, congratulated the Senegalese people on the 65th anniversary of their independence, highlighting the fraternal ties between the two countries and reiterating the commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit.

In his letter, the Head of State expressed, on behalf of the Cape Verdean people and himself, his best wishes for the "well-being and prosperity of this sister nation that affectionately welcomes a large Cape Verdean community".

The President of the Republic emphasised the importance of continuing to strengthen the bonds of friendship, fraternity and cooperation that unite the two countries in order to guarantee reciprocal benefits for the Cape Verdean and Senegalese peoples, sustaining a partnership based on trust and mutual respect.

In the same way, he praised the importance of the Cape Verdean community living in Senegal, considering it a fundamental link in strengthening relations between the two peoples, and also referred to the growing integration of the Senegalese community living in Cabo Verde.
