Lisbon, 15 September (Inforpress) – The Portuguese-Cape Verdean researcher and writer Sónia Jardim will present two books on Cabo Verde on Thursday in Oeiras, entitled “O Segredo de D. José I in Cabo Verde” and “Os Olhares da(quela) Janela”.

The presentation of the two works will take place at 6:00 PM at the Marquês de Pombal Foundation and will be led by Dom Augusto de Athayde, Count of Albuquerque—a lawyer and business executive with a background involving historical, cultural, social, and humanitarian institutions.

Speaking to Inforpress, Sónia Jardim explained that the initiative aims to serve as an occasion to celebrate culture and reflect on historical memory and the ties uniting Portugal and Cabo Verde, fostering dialogue among shared heritages, identities, and experiences.

Regarding *O Segredo de D. José I em Cabo Verde* (The Secret of King José I in Cabo Verde), the author explained that the work uncovers a secret that had been kept in Santo Antão, Cabo Verde—based on documentation and research—which she believes could contribute to a new interpretation of 18th-century Portuguese history.
