Porto Novo: MpD satisfied with the signing of the memorandum on the airport between Government and Cabo Verde Airport

Porto Novo, Feb 26 (Inforpress) – The Municipal Political Commission of MpD in Porto Novo today expressed its satisfaction with the signing, this Friday, the 27th, of the memorandum of understanding on the Santo Antão airport between the Government and Cabo Verde Airport.

The local structures of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) state, in a note, that they believe the construction of the Santo Antão airport will “mark a new era” for this island, being “one of the greatest leverage factors to further develop” local tourism.

MpD Porto Novo further stated that it believes in the success of the agreement to make the airport construction viable, since Cabo Verde Airport belongs to the world’s largest private group in airport management, VINCI Airports, headquartered in France.

The same source anticipates that the airport will also impact the increase of agriculture, livestock, fisheries, industry and services, creating jobs to retain young people on the island.
