Ribeira Grande, Feb 02 (Inforpress) – The president of the Regional Political Commission (CPR) of PAICV in Santo Antão, José Manuel Monteiro, today described the recent governmental visit to the island as “an MpD campaign action financed with public resources.”

Speaking at a press conference, José Manuel Monteiro accused the Ulisses Correia e Silva administration of failing to present structural projects or concrete responses to the population’s needs.

According to the same source, the Prime Minister was accompanied by “a large delegation of around 50 people,” including ministers, senior public administration officials, presidents of public institutes and companies, advisers and MPs, on a trip which, he said, had clear electoral objectives.

The regional PAICV leader considered that, over nearly ten years in office, the government has failed to attract structural investments in tourism, industry and agribusiness, nor consistently improve health services, access to water for agriculture, and living conditions for the most vulnerable families on the island.
