Praia, Jul 1 (Inforpress) - Vladmir Silves Ferreira, the newly elected secretary-general of the African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV), has promised to work to ensure that Francisco Carvalho is elected prime minister of Cabo Verde in the next legislative elections.
Vladmir Silves Ferreira was speaking to Inforpress about his election as secretary general of the largest opposition party, which took place during the PAICV congress held last weekend in Praia.
His main mission in this pre-election period is to contribute to ensuring that Francisco Carvalho, now president of the PAICV, is elected prime minister of Cabo Verde in the next legislative elections.
' In order for this to happen, the secretariat's role will be to help in the process of restructuring the party, we have regional bodies, regional political commissions and sectors that have expired mandates and need to be renewed," he said.
