Maio Island: Liberdadi ship breakdown puts island without a sea connection until Saturday
22/07/26 - 12:10 pm

Porto Inglês, July 22 (Inforpress) - A breakdown on the ship Liberdadi has caused the cancellation of two maritime trips to the island of Maio, leaving the island without maritime connections until Saturday, affecting the mobility of passengers and the transport of goods.

The cancellations come at a time of high demand for the island, driven by summer activities and increased visitor flow.

The suspension of ferry services may also affect the Nha Santana festivities in Morrinho, which are due to begin on Thursday 23rd, making it difficult for visitors and participants to travel to the event.

The breakdown also compromises the island's supply, since this Wednesday is usually the day when the main local businesses restock.
