Praia, Apr 17 (Inforpress) – The National Police (PN) clarified, Wednesday, that the refusal of entry to Nigerian citizens in Cape Verde on the 13th was due to the lack of documentation proving, in particular, the guarantee of means of subsistence and the purpose of the trip.
In a statement, the PN explained that at around 2 pm on the 13th of this month, the Air Border Unit based at Amílcar Cabral International Airport, on the island of Sal, refused entry into national territory to two groups of Nigerian citizens.
The first group consisted of five passengers and the second of two, comprising four women and three men, all from Senegal, on the Transavia flight.
Among the reasons that led to the denial of entry to these citizens, the PN pointed out the lack of proof of the means of subsistence required under the law, which guarantee the financial capacity to cover the cost of the stay, and the fact that they did not present valid proof that could attest to the purpose of the trip.
