Mindelo, Apr 16 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Institute for Territorial Management (INGT) stated that the institution intends to draft a guiding document to serve as the basis for defining a policy and strategy for climate change adaptation in Cabo Verde.
Ilce Amarante was speaking on the sidelines of the partners’ roundtable on Island Resilience, a meeting which, although held behind closed doors, marks the launch of a structuring project for how the country approaches territorial management and climate challenges.
According to her, the initiative stems from a partnership with the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Portugal), in coordination with the Ministry of Infrastructure and other government members, aiming to ensure technical and scientific assistance to national institutions, with a focus on technological and nature-based solutions.
The INGT president highlighted the importance of involving municipalities and funding partners, advocating for joint construction from the outset.
