Praia, May 29 (Inforpress) - Today the IGQPI launched Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification programs aimed at strengthening the conditions for safe food production in the country.
“The main purpose is to create the right conditions so that food sector operators can be better prepared to demonstrate that they comply with the requirements related to food safety”, explained the director of the IGQPI standardization and conformity assessment services, Tomy Alves.
According to the Institute of Quality Management and Intellectual Property (IGQPI), these certification programs will bring added value to compliance with food sector legislation, contributing to reducing the costs of “non-quality” products, complaints and also showing consumers that the food preparation meets the specified requirements.
“Because this program is based on an international standard, which is the Food Code, linked to general principles governing food,” he added.
