Guinea-Conakry community living in the Cabo Verde highlights integration and calls for easier regularisation

Praia, 2 Oct (Inforpress) – Guinea-Conakry’s community living in Cabo Verde today highlighted the importance of integration and the friendly ties between the two peoples, while calling for simpler procedures for regularisation and obtaining official documents.

This view was expressed by Mamadou Baldé, president of the Association of Guineans from Conakry living in Cape Verde, during the events marking the 68th anniversary of Guinea-Conakry’s independence, held today at City Council of Praia.

Guinea-Conakry declared its independence from France on 2 October 1958, after rejecting, in a referendum, integration into the French Community.

According to that association representative, the community’s integration has been positive, despite the difficulties associated with the residence application process and obtaining documentation.
