Praia, Dec 04 (Inforpress) – The Government approved a plan worth more than 1.1 billion escudos to restore hydro-agricultural infrastructure damaged by November rains in the municipalities of Tarrafal, São Miguel, Santa Cruz and Santa Catarina.
The plan, published in Official Gazette No. 118, covers a vast intervention area across 23 watersheds designated as calamity zones.
Actions include the construction of anti-erosion structures, torrential correction works, reinstallation of irrigation systems, and rehabilitation of wells and boreholes, aiming to quickly restore income-generating activities for rural families.
Contracts will be awarded through direct adjustment or restricted tendering under exceptional procedures of the Public Procurement Code, limited to what is strictly necessary and justified by urgent circumstances.
