Futebol/CAN Feminino: Silvéria Nédio confirms the status of the country and calls the union

Praia, Jul 07 (Inforpress) – A national female selection affirms that the Cabo Verde country of the African National Camp (CAN) represents an opportunity to affirm the modalities and calls for the involvement of followers and social communication.

At a press conference following the announcement of the provisional squad for the competition, Silvéria Nédio said that Cabo Verde’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations represented “an important step in the development” of women’s football in the country. 

“The Cabo Verde national teams, both men’s and women’s, are much loved by the people. There is never any pressure; there is always motivation,” said Silvéria Nédio.

The coach stressed that women’s football is forging its own path, without any direct comparison to the journey taken by the men’s national team, which over the years has forged a strong bond with the Cape Verdean people.
