Football/FIFA Series 2026: Bubista “proud” of team’s character despite defeat

City of Praia, Mar 27 (Inforpress) – National team coach Bubista expressed that he was “proud” of the character shown by the team, despite the defeat against Chile in the first match of the FIFA Series taking place in New Zealand.

The Cabo Verde national football team was defeated early today by 2–4 against Chile in a match held in Auckland as part of the FIFA Series 2026 tournament.

“We played about 55 minutes with one player less, so I am proud of the team for the character shown during the match,” Bubista noted, recalling that Cabo Verde faced a team with extensive international experience.

“I am satisfied with everything the team achieved in terms of organization, commitment, and sacrifice, especially after the sending-off,” he added.
