São Filipe, May 26 (Inforpress) – A technical team from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment delegation, including members of other institutions, began today an “exhaustive survey” of the damage caused by the Cova Marinho fire, said Estevão Fonseca.
The delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Estevão Fonseca, said that the survey will focus on determining the area affected by the fire, but also the agricultural area destroyed, quantifying the number and species of forest and fruit plants destroyed.
The survey must also quantify the amount of pasture that the farmers had collected and that was consumed by the flames, as well as the area of pasture affected.
The preliminary survey by the National Civil Protection and Fire Service estimates that an area of 277 hectares of land was consumed by the fire, of which approximately ten hectares are agricultural land.
