Praia, May 16 (Inforpress) - The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMFA) today gave a ‘positive assessment’ of Exercise Obangame Express-2025 and emphasised the need for strategic alliances, joint capabilities and a security culture based on shared trust and responsibility.

‘It is imperative to consolidate strategic alliances, invest in joint capabilities and foster a culture of security based on mutual trust, respect between nations and the sharing of responsibilities,’ said António Duarte Monteiro at the closing ceremony of Exercise Obangame Express-2025 (OE-25).

The exercise, which took place for the first time in Cabo Verde between the 5th and 16th of this month, brought together around 30 countries, including 22 members of the Yaoundé architecture and eight international partner countries.

It has made it possible to test operational response capacity, strengthen partnerships and consolidate trust between the nations involved in maritime security.
