English BXGP champion promotes sports activities in Casa Lata neighbourhood to inspire children and youth

Praia, Dec 17 (Inforpress) – The Casa Lata neighbourhood in the city of Praia is hosting sports and community activities promoted by Carlos Moreno, English boxing champion, bringing together children and young people around sport, social interaction and inspiration for the future.

The initiative, taking place in this neighbourhood on the outskirts of the Cape Verdean capital, resulted from a connection established between the Cape Verdean boxer and English “Boxing Elite Middleweight” (BXGP) champion, Carlos Moreno, and the local community, following several visits to the country.

The athlete told Inforpress that the idea arose from direct observation of the children’s potential, especially in sports, where he identified talent, energy and a willingness to learn.

The project includes boxing and football activities, organised in a playful manner, with the aim of occupying children’s free time and steering them away from risky environments.
