Document that amends the civil code with regard to the legal regime of horizontal property approved in speciality

Praia, Apr 15 (Inforpress) - The Specialised Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Human Rights, Security and State Reform (1st Committee) on Wednesday gave special approval to the draft law amending the civil code on the legal regime of horizontal property.

The purpose of this law is to bring the legal system into line with global standards and adapt the law to Cabo Verde's socio-economic reality, according to a note from the National Assembly.

It also aims to introduce rules on the division and amalgamation of autonomous fractions and extends the horizontal property regime to rustic buildings or land.

In order to meet the needs of investors and entrepreneurs, this legal regime replaced the concept of a constructed building with a building, making it possible for a horizontal property to be built on a building under construction.
