Diocese of Santiago promotes Children's Jubilee to commemorate 500 years of the Episcopate

Praia, May 27 (Inforpress) – The Diocese of Santiago will bring together children and teenagers from the island of Santiago on June 1, in the National State, to celebrate the Diocesan Jubilee of children and teenagers, in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Episcopate.

Odair Tavares, the head of the organisation, explained that this jubilee is part of a ten-year cycle of preparation for the 500th anniversary of the diocese, to be celebrated in 2033.

"Last year we celebrated the Jubilee for Young People. This year is dedicated to children and next year it will be the turn of the elderly. We want to involve all generations in this historic journey," he said.

He emphasised that the highlight of the Jubilee will be the Eucharistic celebration, which will be animated by the children.
