Praia City, July 27 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Health reported today that eight garbage trucks were removed from the vicinity of the National Palace during the mega-cleanup operation at the aforementioned infrastructure.
In statements to the press, the same source explained that the waste was removed from the ditches in Várzea, adjacent to the Palace, and stressed that this action is part of "a large public mobilization" to unclog drainage channels and combat pollution hotspots in the country's capital.
Lúcio Fernandes also said that the next steps involve advancing the work to survey and clean the ditches in Várzea, which extend to the Fontão area, a location that will receive further intervention in the coming days.
In an appeal to public awareness regarding the accumulated waste, the official stressed that the success of the initiative depends directly on the collaboration of the entire community.
