Cidade da Praia hosts 31st ‘Ugly Duckling’ rhythmic gymnastics tournament

Praia, May 16 (Inforpress) - The Praia Gymnastics Club (Gymnart) is holding the 31st edition of the “Patinho Feio”, (Ugly Duckling) rhythmic gymnastics tournament on Saturday 17th, an event that is seen as a symbolic and special moment for the youngest athletes.

According to a note sent to Inforpress, the tournament will take place at the Vává Duarte Sports Centre in Praia, and is open to the public on purchase of tickets, with symbolic prices of 200 escudos for children and 300 escudos for adults.

‘More than a competition, the “Ugly Duckling” is a celebration of the growth and transformation of little athletes, inspired by the well-known story by Hans Christian Andersen,’ reads the note.

According to the same source, this is, year after year, the most eagerly awaited moment for the little gymnasts, their families and the local community - an afternoon of emotion, art and inspiration, where each movement tells a story of overcoming.
