Church of the Nazarene Highlights Social and Spiritual Role at New Year’s Meeting with the President of the Republic

Praia, Jan 12 (Inforpress) – Gastão Correia, the superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene, , said today that the role of the church goes beyond the spiritual dimension, also encompassing social responsibility and the transmission of values that guide society.

The remarks were made during the New Year’s greetings ceremony to the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, describing the meeting as one of “great cordiality.”

According to Gastão Correia, several issues of national concern were addressed during the meeting with the Head of State, in a context marked by social challenges and an international scenario described as “very tense.”

“We spoke about peace, about the very tense situation in the world, and as always, we promised our prayers to the President, as well as to the government and the entire nation,” said the superintendent.
