Praia, May 19 (Inforpress) – The director of the Cabo Verde Museums, of the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC), Aleida Aguiar, said this Sunday that national citizens visit these infrastructures “very little”, while the greatest demand has been from foreigners.
Regarding the relationship between Cape Verdeans and museums, Aleida Aguiar said that entry to some museums is “free” for nationals, in order to encourage them to visit these facilities and, even so, demand still leaves much to be desired.
“So far, what we can say is that around 60% to 70% of visitors are foreigners”, indicated the Director of Museums, adding that the nationals who seek out these infrastructures are a “tiny number”, with students continuing to make up the majority.
Aleida Aguiar made these considerations, in an interview with Inforpress, on the occasion of International Museum Day, which is celebrated today around the world.
