Cape Verde makes its debut at the First Paralympic Games in West Africa with a delegation of four athletes

Espargos, November 26 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde will be present at the First West African Paralympic Games, which will take place from November 26 to December 3 in the city of Abeokuta, Nigeria.

The confirmation was made in a press release by the Cape Verdean Federation of Adapted Sports (FECADA), which highlights the strategic importance of this participation for the preparatory cycle towards the 2028 Paralympic Games.

The national delegation consists of four athletes, two guides, a coach, and an official, who will compete in various track and field events, including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, and long jump, in the T11, T12, T20, and T47 categories.

Among those selected, two stand out as making their international competition debuts: Euclides Jorge da Costa Semedo, a T47 athlete who will compete in the 100m, 200m and long jump, and Rosimery dos Reis Fonseca, a visually impaired athlete in the T12 category who will participate in the sprint events, accompanied by her guide Carlos Araújo.
