
Praia, Oct 28 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde will participate in the 2nd World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar, from November 4th to 6th and reaffirms its commitment to social inclusion, poverty eradication and international cooperation.
According to a government press release, under the motto "Accelerating social progress and strengthening international cooperation for inclusive and sustainable societies," the Cape Verdean delegation will be led by the Secretary of State for Social Inclusion, Lídia Lima, who will represent the country in the main panels and debates of the summit.
Organised under the auspices of the United Nations, this summit is ‘an essential milestone’ in the global effort to promote social development, eradicate poverty and build fairer and more equitable societies.
The meeting aims to reinforce the commitments made in the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and align actions with the Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
